On November 14, trainees from Cameroon’s Délégation Générale à la Sûreté Nationale (DGSN) completed their training in countering improvised explosive devices. The General Secretary of the DGSN, Dominique Baya, and Nathalie FELINES, President of Geomines, in the presence of the French Embassy in Cameroon, awarded diplomas to the trainees trained in counter-improvised explosive devices.

The ceremony marks the end of the first year of training at the Yaoundé Police Academy, and the entry of DGSN officers into a corps of deminers deployed in the regions.

The DGSN was provided with a number of items of equipment to enable the deminers to carry out their missions in the field, which are essential for the protection of the population.

The results of this first year of training are very positive:

2️⃣3️⃣ trainees trained to EOD level 1 1️⃣5️⃣ trainees trained to EOD level 2 1️⃣2️⃣ trainees trained in countering IEDs IEDs 4️⃣ regions with 6 deminers trained and equipped.

We would like to extend our warmest thanks to our project partners: DGSN, CENTRE DE CRISE ET DE SOUTIEN (CDCS) of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Direction de la Coopération Internationale de Sécurité (DCIS) of the Ministry of the Interior and the French Embassy in Yaoundé.
